It all started with a text from my best friend: “YOU HAVE TO MAKE THIS!” Intrigued, I opened the link she sent, and what did I find? S’mores made in an air fryer. Toasted marshmallows, gooey chocolate, and crispy graham crackers—in an air fryer? I was immediately sold.

Now, I’ve used my air fryer for a lot of recipes, but s’mores? Never crossed my mind! The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity—just three ingredients and five minutes, and you’ve got perfectly toasty, gooey s’mores without the campfire.

But here’s the thing—I don’t want burnt chocolate or marshmallows that are only halfway melted. I’m all about that perfectly toasted marshmallow exterior while keeping the chocolate just melted enough. After testing it out (and eating more than I should admit), I finally cracked the code.

The Secret to Perfect Air Fryer S’mores

The trick is to give the marshmallows their own spotlight first. Most recipes toss everything in at once, but I wasn’t about to risk turning my chocolate into a burnt mess. So, I let the marshmallows toast solo first until they were golden brown. Crispy outside with the fluffy, gooey inside.

Then, I nestled the chocolate squares into the soft marshmallows so they could melt into perfection.

The result was pure s’mores bliss.

The marshmallows expand in the air fryer, so be careful not to overcrowd them. I learned this the hard way by tossing in way too many the first time. Trust me, less is more here! As for the chocolate, I went with a dark 70% bar, which balances out the sweet marshmallow perfectly, but you can use whatever you love—milk, semi-sweet, even white chocolate!

How to Make Air Fryer S’mores

What I love about this recipe (aside from the fact that it’s insanely delicious) is how quick it is. In less than 10 minutes, you’ve got a warm, melty dessert that everyone will go crazy for. Plus, no need to wait for a campfire.

Air Fryer S'mores

Ingredients:

  • 180g marshmallows (about 6.3 oz)
  • 100g dark chocolate (about 3.5 oz), broken into squares
  • Digestive biscuits or graham crackers for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 356°F (180°C).
  2. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Spread the marshmallows evenly at the bottom of the basket, making sure they don’t overlap. Less is more here—they’ll double in size when they toast.
  3. Air fry the marshmallows for 5-6 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and crispy.
  4. Carefully remove the basket, and immediately place your chocolate squares evenly between the marshmallows, gently pressing them in. The heat from the marshmallows will help the chocolate melt.
  5. Air fry for another 2-3 minutes until the chocolate is perfectly gooey but not burnt.
  6. Serve with digestive biscuits or graham crackers. Use a fork to transfer the marshmallow and chocolate mixture onto the biscuits (it’s sticky, but that’s part of the fun!). Enjoy!

These air fryer s’mores are messy, gooey, and absolutely irresistible. Perfect for a quick treat, dessert for guests, or just because you want to indulge. Don’t forget the napkins—you’re going to need them!
